Description of MDG16-1

Technical details:

 

The invention concerns the MDG16-1 mobile disinfection device, for the chemical-free sterilization, decontamination and disinfection of all surfaces and room air, especially in intensive care units and isolation wards, as well as in all patients' rooms.

 

The MDG16-1, consists of high quality parts.

 

The side part of the "lamp" consists of 3.5 mm thick UV-C transparent special quartz glass. The upper and lower parts are made of 1.5 mm thick V2A sheet metal.

In the "lamp body" there are, the mounting frame, the brackets, the tube guide, the curved mirror plates made of 1 mm V2A sheet metal, the 8 ballasts and the brackets of the 8 UV-C tubes.

 

The UV-C tubes have a wavelength of 253.7 nm (nm = nanometer).

 

The pure light emission is 790 mm.

 

The total consumption of the MDG16-1 is approx. 388 W/h with an output of 8 UV-C tubes per 36 W/h. Compared to other processes, the MDG16-1 is environmentally friendly and economical in operation, since no or only minor chemicals are used.

 

The base with its 5 castors is non-tilting and thanks to its "wingspan" of approx. 65 cm it is suitable to fit through any commercial door.

 

The two aluminium tubes supplied are 2 x 1,000 mm long and twist securely. The luminaire is attached to these aluminium tubes.

The lower aluminium tube is screwed into the tube holder of the mobile stand by means of a knurled nut.

The MDG16-1 has a connection cable of approx. 10 meters and can be supplied in other lengths, depending on the customer's requirements.

 

The colour of the MDG16-1 is RAL 5012.

The MDG16-1, is easy to operate and equipped with high quality, state-of-the-art built-in devices.

 

The electrical connections and controls are located in the lower part of the MDG16-1.

 

  1. Insert the mains plug into the socket (220 to 240 Volt, 50 or 60 Hertz).

 

  1. To switch on, the latching switch (on the right side) must be switched on (9 o' clock position), the separate indicator light (green) (on the right side) lights up, the MDG16-1 is ready for operation.

 

  1. The 2nd step is either to switch on with the momentary contact switch (on the left side) with a separate indicator light (colourless) and turn it briefly to (9 o' clock position) or

 

  1. by hand transmitter (range approx. 12 m) via the built-in radio relay.

 

  1. The timer of the radio relay is activated in case of procedure 2,3 and 4.

 

  1. The time or impulse counting is carried out via the built-in combined – hour counter - pulse counter (non-resettable), which has the advantage that the life-usage time of the UV-C tubes can be calculated correctly and thus the reduction in power is "remedied" in time.

 

  1. After the set time of 1.0 hours has elapsed, the MDG16-1 switches off automatically and the room can be used again as normal.

 

 

The keys of the key switch and the key switch can be removed during the cycle.

 

An exact calculation of the "lifetime of the UV-C tubes"is included with each new device, or can be requested from us.

!ATTENTION! when using the MDG16-1, it is strongly recommended to wear UV-C - safety glasses and protective gloves (commercial clinic products).

Field of application:

 

At 100 to 280 nm, UV-C light is the shortest and thus most energy-rich area of the ultraviolet spectrum.

 

The wavelength of 253.7 nm (nm = nanometer) is primarily responsible for the destruction of microorganisms. It has the greatest effect on the genetic material in the cell nucleus of microorganisms.

 

UV-C-radiation does not penetrate any solid materials - also no window glass (borosilicate, duran) or transparent plastics (acrylic glass, polystyrene, plexiglass etc.), except for particularly suitable materials such as UV-C permeable special quartz glass!

 

The MDG16-1 can be used on all common surfaces such as fabric, wood, glass and metal.

 

The MDG16-1, thanks to its round and compact shape, has a housing that is robust and ideal for everyday use.

The MDG16-1 is recommended for use in rooms requiring sterilization, disinfection and disinfection and can also be used to combat mould.

 

The MDG16-1 is particularly recommended for use in "problem rooms (areas)" such as intensive care and isolation wards, as well as in all patient rooms that need to be sterilized, disinfected and disinfected; it can also be used to combat mould fungus.

 

The four most common hospital germs are:

 

  1. MRSA stands for "methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus" - also known as "hospital germ" because it occurs more frequently there. Staphylococci are bacteria. MRSA bacteria are a special form of the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus: they are resistant to the antibiotic methicillin. That means they can't be treated with the usual antibiotic. Both bacterial forms cause the same inflammation - but MRSA is more difficult to treat than "normal" Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

  1. The clostridium difficile, an intestinal bacterium that, under certain circumstances, causes severe diarrhoea.

 

  1. The genus Acinetobacter, which can cause pneumonia as well as wound and urinary tract infections in immunocompromised people, and

  1. Enterococci resistant to the antibiotic vancomycin (AER). They can lead to severe infections in patients in intensive care units.

Different surfaces in these rooms are affected, which includes above all:

Beds, wardrobes, mobile phones, telephones, remote controls, the toilet and the handles on the bed.

 

!Attention! A clue in my own case.

Our MDG15-1 is ideally suited for smaller areas.

 

 

Dimensions and weight:

 

The MDG16-1 weighs 14.600 kg, is 1,000 mm high with a mounting flange and has a diameter of 204 mm.

 

The two aluminium tubes have a weight of 1,300 kg.

 

The stand is shipped separately, it has a diameter of approx. 600 mm and a height of 80 mm without castors and 160 mm with castors, its weight is 2.100 kg with castors.

 

The sturdy wooden transport case weighs 7,000 kg, is 1,100 mm long, 300 mm wide and 300 mm high.

 

This meets the criteria for cost-effective transport: The total weight is less than 31,500 kg and the dimensions of the cardboard box are 1,200 mm long, 300 mm wide and 300 mm high.

 

The dimensions of the cardboard box for the stand are 620 mm long, 650 mm wide and 250 mm high.

 

The base with the aluminium tubes is a total height of 2,110 mm, the range by which the MDG16-1 can be "adjusted" from top to bottom by means of the base clamp is 1,960 mm.

As shown in the table, the temperature increased in the first 10 minutes from 15,1 °C to 35,2 °C on the MDG16-1.

After 60 min., the temperature on the MDG16-1 45,4 °C, this did not indicate a high temperature.

During the whole measurement period, the room temperature increased from t1 - 15,1°C to t7 - 17,2°C.
