General information on MRS21 and MRS19
To all mattress cleaners and customers.
Unfortunately there are "BLACK SHEEP" in the field of mattress cleaning who advertise unfairly for mattress cleaning that kills viruses and bacteria with "steam cleaners".
This does not work, because mites, viruses and bacteria feel extremely comfortable in moisture.
But precisely with the measure, these "providers" are making illegal advertising.
This doesn't match!
The fact is that mites, viruses and bacteria can only be confronted with concentrated strength.
This "concentrated power" consists of the most powerful vacuum cleaner (KIRBY) with integrated UV-C light!
Here is a list of your bedfellows ...
The mattress is the dirtiest object with which we have intensive contact for a third of our lives. The causes of the unsanitary and health-endangering condition are manifold, but have one thing in common: they have essentially emerged in the last few decades. Today mattresses are of a very good quality and offer the best sleeping comfort. However, this also means that mattresses are used for a very long time - 10, 15, often even 20 years.
The even room climate in terms of temperature and humidity makes even a 1 year old mattress an ideal breeding ground for house dust mites, bacteria, viruses and fungal spores.
Today, mattresses are hardly ever ventilated, they are too heavy, unwieldy and often there is not enough time to do so. For many years, man, woman and child lie on a mattress that is extremely dirty and therefore hazardous to health. Anyone who believes that a sheet protects against this is greatly mistaken. This is a matter of microparticles - a sheet provides no more protection from them than a fishing net does from sand.
We get them all, whether bacteria, mites, dander, spores, dust / particles or viruses (also coronavirus - COVID-19 and SARS - viruses)!
Bacteria
As single-cell organisms, some strains of bacteria - also known as bacilli - are the cause of diseases and are sometimes even resistant to antibiotics.
Mites
Mattresses are an ideal biotope for house dust mites. The scales of human skin infected by bacteria provide plenty of nourishment. The reproduction is numerous, natural enemies such as the predatory mite have become extinct. Up to 1 million house dust mites can be found in a mattress. This huge army produces corresponding amounts of guanine-containing mite excrement: according to scientific knowledge, it triggers allergies and their sequelae such as redness of the eyes, itching, etc.
Together with the dust, the mite excrement is whirled up with every movement, the mattress acts like a bellows and the particles get into the mouth, nose, eyes and lie on the skin.
Dander
We lose up to 1.5 g of skin flakes per day, over 1/2 kg per year - people with psoriasis many times as much. A large part of it remains in the mattress, becomes rancid due to bacterial attack and develops an unpleasant, tranquil odor. The typical bedroom smell!
Tracks
Spread in the form of mushrooms. They are also the cause of skin diseases, especially stubborn skin fungus.
Dust / particles
Up to 200 g in a mattress, in the grain size range from 0.1 - 0.8 mm.
A mixture of organic and inorganic particles, flakes of skin, exuded salts, mite droppings and many other things. Dust acts as a carrier for mite droppings and bacteria.
Viruses
This group of microorganisms are invariably pathogens, including febrile infections, with various symptoms. Some types of viruses have become much more aggressive in the last few decades.
Mattress cleaning - the patented process!
The special machine developed for mattress cleaning generates high-frequency vibrations. The dirt particles inside the mattress are loosened, pulverized and removed with a vacuum precisely tailored to the mattress. At the same time, intensive UV-C radiation kills bacteria, viruses and spores. This patented process for professional mattress cleaning is used very successfully all over the world.
House dust mite excrement is very dangerous to health
Dust mites are tiny, whitish arachnids (0.1-0.5 mm long) that are invisible to the naked eye: 300-400 fit on a match head. House dust mites are found in practically every household and are not a sign of poor hygiene and cleanliness.
Multiplication
The lifespan is 60 to 150 days. During this period, the female dust mites lay around 300 eggs.
Food
Human dander is the main source of food for house dust mites. Humans lose an average of 1.5 g of dander in bed every night, which is enough food for 1 million house dust mites. Mattresses offer the best living conditions in terms of warmth, moisture and nutrition and are therefore ideal breeding grounds for house dust mites.
Natural enemies
The predatory mite, which is 10 times larger than the natural enemy of the house dust mite, no longer seems to exist today. No other natural enemies are currently known.
Mite droppings in mattresses
Dust mites themselves do not transmit disease or cause allergies - the real allergen is their feces. A mite excretes around 20 times its own body weight in mite faeces per day. Mite droppings contain the allergen guanine, which triggers numerous health problems.
House dust mites throughout the living area
Of course, house dust mites are not only found in mattresses - also in carpets, upholstered furniture and curtains, and even on parquet floors, house dust mites and their mite droppings are present. The difference is that we do not have such intensive contact with these objects for 1/3 of our lives and the concentration is much lower than in the mattress.
Mattress types and the house dust mite
In a large-scale study of 300 mattresses, it was found that house dust mites are found in all types of mattresses. The earlier claim that latex does not keep house dust mites is incorrect. However, there are mattresses that are prepared with a chemical agent against house dust mites. But who likes to sleep on a chemically prepared mattress?
Prevent health problems!
According to the current state of knowledge, the house dust mite itself is not harmful to humans. The house dust mite produces 200 times its body weight in excrement in the course of its life
(= allergy-triggering mite excrement), which initially stick to textile fibers in small slime-covered balls and later disintegrate into powdery fine dust. This mite excrement contains the allergen "guanine" which causes allergies. Scientists have now agreed and a whole series of scientific articles and studies have confirmed that mite faeces containing guanine pose a health risk and are responsible for the development of the following symptoms:
- Allergic complaints in general
- difficulty breathing
- Inflamed mucous membranes, especially in the nose
- Atopic dermatitis
- Hautekzeme
- reddening of the skin
- Cough
- Niesreiz
- itching
- Watery and sore eyes
- exacerbation of bronchitis and asthma
For those who are allergic to house dust, more precisely those who are allergic to mite faeces, constant contact with the mite faeces from the mattress is a very serious health risk. Swollen eyelids, dripping noses, burning itching and scratched skin areas are the external signs of these complaints, an allergy shock with shortness of breath or even stopping breathing are the extremes.
Regular mattress cleaning is the best way to prevent possible allergies!
Often the organism has tolerated the mite excrement for years - and out of the blue it suddenly reacts allergic to it. The fatal thing about it is that once an allergy to a certain substance has arisen, it lasts for life. This means that every new contact of house dust allergy sufferers with mite excrement will cause allergy problems.
The Kirby vacuum cleaner generates high-frequency vibrations, which loosens the dirt particles, mites, viruses, bacteria, etc. inside the mattress and removes them with the Kirby vacuum cleaner with its extremely high suction power.
The intensive UV-C radiation of the ABS LED UV-C kills mites, viruses, bacteria, etc. without the use of chemicals.
When irradiated with UV-C light, the chitin layer (armor) of the mite is "dissolved".
The cleaning process is harmless to the material, is suitable for all mattresses and does not cause a lot of noise or dust. The entire process is completely harmless to people and the environment.
After cleaning, the mattress is completely cleaned and, in contrast to "wet cleaning", it can be used immediately.

When do mites freeze to death?
At least twelve hours at -12 ° C: A recipe to put an end to mites.
Focus on cold tolerance
In a small study by researchers led by Professor Larry Arlian from the University of Dayton, the cold tolerance of the mite species Dermatophagoides farinae has now been examined for the first time (J Allergy Clin Immunol. 2018; 141: 451-3).
For this purpose, female mites were stored in several experiments for four to 48 hours at -4 ° C, -12 ° C and -15 ° C and then cultivated at room temperature and observed for 15 days. More than half of the female mites survived for five to six days after 24 hours at -15 ° C. However, all of these mites died by day 15 without having produced eggs during that time. This was achieved by 98 percent of the control mites, which, however, were kept under ideal conditions.
Freezing temperatures are not enough
Temperatures of -4 ° C over 24 hours, corresponding to natural frost, did not bother the mites, however: numerous larvae hatched during the study period.
Conclusion: Storing soft toys and other small items in the freezer for 48 hours at -15 ° C should kill both mites and their eggs. The recommended minimum is twelve hours at -12 ° C.
